Program Overview

The Accounting Clerk program is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to prepare for a successful entry level career as an accounting clerk or bookkeeper within a variety of businesses and industries. The program is designed for the student with no previous experience.

The Accounting Clerk program prepares the student for a variety of careers relating to bookkeeping and accounting in today’s technology-driven workplace. Students learn basic accounting transactions and how to create financial statements. The program is heavily technology-based, spending the majority of class time working in a computer lab. Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Quickbooks are used throughout the program. Graduates are able to apply for positions with job titles such as: Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper, Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounting Assistant, and Payroll Accounting Clerk.
