Great Lakes Institute of Technology has been named by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) as a 2017 School of Excellence. ACCSC is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the designated institutional accrediting body for over 650 post-secondary, trade and technical schools that serve 150,000 students each year. In 2017 only 14 schools received the School of Excellence designation.
The School of Excellence Award is ACCSC's most prestigious institutional award and recognizes Great Lakes Institute of Technology for their commitment to the expectations and rigors of ACCSC accreditation, as well as the efforts made by the institution in maintaining high-levels of achievement among their students.
“Our schools have completed renewal of our accreditation in full compliance,” said Vickie Clements, Director of Education for Great Lakes Institute of Technology. "Our graduation rates and graduate employment rates exceeded goals set by ACCSC. We are very proud of our faculty, staff, and students and the efforts made by everyone to achieve this level of recognition. As a result of the hard work, our schools have qualified for an additional 6th year of accreditation."
As noted by ACCSC's Associate Executive Director, Christopher Lambert, "In selecting Great Lakes Institute of Technology as 2017 School of Excellence, the Accrediting Commission took note of the schools consistent commitment to the expectations and rigors of the ACCSC accreditation process as well as a commitment to delivering high quality educational programs and services to the students, graduates and employers that deserve our best work.
