Where have you worked since you graduated, and where do you work currently, and how long have you been working there?
I was lucky enough to get a job right after I graduated. While I was training I was lucky that my current position was up for grabs and they felt I was a perfect fit for the job. So I am currently working at the Health and Wellness Pavilion in their pediatric department. I have been working here for about 3 months now.
What type of things do you do there day to day?
Some types of things that I do everyday are room patients, take their vitals, update their charts if needed, prepare the patient for the doctor, keeping all the rooms stocked, etc.
What do you like about your career?
The thing I like most about my career is that its always something different that comes through the office and being able to watch all the children grow big and tall.
What are your career goals for the future?
My career goals for the future is to hopefully go back to school to further my education but right now I'm happy where I am!
What advice can you give current students and new graduates that can help them be successful?
Never give up even when you think you can't its all worth it in the end. Set goals and stick to them, you never know what you are capable of doing!
What did you like about attending Great Lakes?
The one that I liked most about Great Lakes was the hands-on teaching and the teachers were all so kind. I couldn't have chosen a better school to get my Medical Assistant education from!
