This TCM continuing education seminar is a practical lecture based and hands on course. Day 1 covers traditional Chinese medicine assessment protocol and treatment. The scope of practice for a massage therapist will be explained with regards to the various eastern modalities available. The yin/yang theory, five element theory, and meridians will be explained and discussed. The traditional causes of disease and assessment protocol for proper meridian treatment will also be explained and discussed. Students will perform assessments and perform cupping and acupressure/tsubo treatment along the meridians. Day 2 will cover an introductory overview of Herbalism and today’s society. Scope of practice for massage therapy will also be highlighted regarding herbalism as well as cautions and contraindications. Students will also learn how to prepare herbs for optimal benefit during this course. This is the last year that PA will accept continuing education for Eastern Modalities so get it in while you can!

Instructor – Jeffrey Kinnear, Oriental Medical Practitioner

Jeffrey is a licensed Oriental Medical Practitioner. He is certified nationally through NCCAOM as well licensed in the state of Pennsylvania. He has been practicing in Northwestern Pennsylvania since 2008 and is owner of Erie Oriental Medicine. As an Oriental Medical Practitioner, he is licensed for acupuncture, moxibustion, diathermy, Tui Na, cupping, and herbal, nutritional, and lifestyle consultation. He is also a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild and is able to mentor. Jeffrey has been practicing various forms of martial arts for 20 plus years. His main forms are Xing Yi and Kun Tao. Jeffrey also actively practices Qi Gong and Taiiji principals.
