Employer Spotlight - The Regional Cancer Center in Erie

Posted On 2/3/2012

The Regional Cancer Center (RCC) has been bringing expert cancer care close to home for patients in the northwestern Pennsylvania region since 1987. Affiliated with UPMC Cancer Centers, RCC is able to use the resources of one of the top academic programs in the country to bring state of the art treatment and services to our area.

The Regional Cancer Center's commitment to the best possible care begins at the front door. Their "Patient Centered Approach" is evident throughout the building's welcoming atmosphere. By reaching out to patients through their Patient Advisory Group, the Center can gather feedback and ideas to drive their Patient Centered Approach to cancer care.

Kyle Noyer is the Medical Oncology Office Supervisor / Coordinator at RCC and works directly with Great Lakes students. Kyle says, "I have been working with Great Lakes for some years now by serving on their advisory board and hosting students on externships. Great Lakes works hard to keep up with the changing healthcare needs for their students to succeed in their chosen careers."

Kyle is a medical assistant graduate from Great Lakes when the school was under the name of J. H. Thompson. She enjoys working with externs from Great Lakes and recalls her days as an extern. "It is rewarding to give students challenges and watch them use what they have learned in school and apply it at RCC."
