All classes are subject to minimum class sizes. Class schedules may be rescheduled, postponed, or
cancelled. Books/supplies are not included in class tuition and are the responsibility of the students.

Blueprint Reading 1
Monday– July 12, 2010- August 23, 2010
Learn the fundamentals of reading and interpreting information on industrial blueprints with emphasis
on manufacturing applications. Topics may include: basics of drawing interpretation, terminology and

Intro to Shop Mathematics

Learn mathematics used in the shop environment. Students will become competent in solving mathematics problems involving whole numbers, common and decimal fractions, percentages, equations, and basic principles of measurement. Intermediate Shop Mathematics

Intro to G Code Programming
Wednesdays – August 4 – October 6, 2010 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
This class will include hands on experience with G & M programming on simulators. Be able to write a
program from scratch with the following understandings. Knowledge of rapid traverse, linear
interpolation, and circular arcs using a drawing will be taught. Learn about work offsets, different
coordinate systems, tool definition to include proper tooling, tool length, tool diameter control, along

Intro to Mastercam X
M/W – August 16– October 6, 2010 - 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Pneumatics

This is a supervised lab course that applies the principles and applications of pneumatics as it applies

Basic Electricity
Wednesdays – August 4, 2010 – October 13, 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Learn basic electricity through theory and hands on application labs with group projects. The following
topics will be discussed: Ohm’s law, AC and DC, electrical safety, electric meters, voltage, current,
and resistance, electrical terminology, electrical drawings, choosing the right type of wire, National

Welding for Maintenance Personnel
Wednesday – August 4, 2010 – October 6, 2010, 6:00-9:00
Prerequisite: Prior Welding experience in SMAW and GMAW/FCAW, Oxy Fuel (Torches) Student should have welding hood, shipping hammer, wire brush, welding jacket/leathers, tape, soapstone, safety glasses, gloves and appropriate clothing for welding.
This course is designed to help people in the maintenance field with prior welding experience. The course is primarily hands on training for the student in the following processes: Oxy/Fuel – Torch and Track Cutting, Brazing, SMAW (Stick Welding), GMAW or FCAW (Mig Welding) flat and vertical positions.
