Classes at Corry Higher Education Council

Blueprint Reading I
Date:               September 23 –October 14, 2008; Days: Tuesdays/Thursdays 

Cost:               $329.00 – includes the cost of the book             

Time:              6:00-9:00 p.m. -- 21 hours 

Location:        Corry Higher Education Council

Learn the fundamentals of reading and interpreting information on industrial blueprints with emphasis on manufacturing applications.  Topics will include:  Title Blocks, Lines and Symbols, Orthographic Projection, One-View Drawings, Two-View Drawings,Three-View Drawings, Machining Symbols, Sectional Views, Surface Texture

 

Safety 101 for Employers

Date:              Tuesday, September 23, 2008;  Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

Cost:              $125.00 (Includes lunch and handouts) 

Learn the Seven Critical Components of a Safety Management System that can reduce workers compensation costs.  Discussion will include how to utilize these components for everyone's benefit.  This seminar is designed to update employers on the following areas of safety:  Requirements for general industry, Safety and Health , Management Basics, Effective Safety Communications, Identifying hazards, Safety and supervisors, Safety committee, Conducting an accident investigation, Additional hazards you might find.

 

Safety Seminars Date: October 9

Lockout/Tagout

8:00 – 10:00 a.m.;  $34.00

Employees that perform, or are affected by lockout/tagout procedures require training and periodic updates. Types of energy sources will be discussed, when to lockout/tagout, and the proper procedures to use.

 

Confined Space

10:00noon;   $34.00

The course covers the differences between confined space and permit required confined space, air monitoring equipment, entry permits and safe work practices including methods of non-entry rescue.

 

Bloodborne Pathogens in General Industry

1:00 – 3:00 p.m.;$34.00

This training session is intended for employees who are likely to be exposed to body fluids in an industrial setting, including custodians, any personnel assigned to clean up body fluids after an industrial accident.

Blueprint Reading II
Date:               October 16 – November 11, 2008; Days: Tuesdays/Thursdays 

Cost:               $298.00             

Time:              6:00-9:00 p.m. -- 24 hours

This is a continuation of Blueprint Reading I with emphasis n manufacturing applications to include surface textures, tolerances and allowances, auxiliary views, dimensioning and tolerancing.
