W. John Smith
John holds a BS in Education from Edinboro University of PA, with additional Masters Degree hours in Education. John also holds an Associate Petroleum Engineering degree from University of Texas through Dow Chemical. He has been involved in safety since 1976, first with Dow Chemical, Dowell Division, and for the past 21 years as a safety consultant.John’s accomplishments include
- Founder and retired President of W J Smith and Associates, Inc an environmental and safety compliance company representing over 200 business in 35 states and Canada
- Served as a resource person for the Eastern Gas Compression Roundtable for 6 years.
- Presented numerous SARA seminaries in conjunction with EPA Region III
- Presented safety seminars for Northwest Industrial Resource Center, Gannon University Small Business Center and PA and New York Oil and Gas Associations
- Is listed as a safety consultant by PA Industrial Resource Centers
- Is an authorized OSHA 501 outreach trainer
- Is a past member of the National Ski Patrol (20 years)
- A past volunteer fireman/Emergency Medical Technician
