David Baird

Dave Baird has over 30 years of experience in the field of plastics technology, and injection molding.  He received his B.S. in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University and his M.Ed. in Industrial Education from the University of Maryland. His career has been split between manufacturing, college teaching, and industrial training. 

He has held processing and supervision positions in the custom injection molding business along with having taught plastics technology and tooling courses at both the University of Maryland, the State University of New York at Morrisville and Penn State Erie.  Dave also co-authored the textbook: Industrial Plastics, which was written for use in introductory plastics technology courses.

Mr. Baird also spent five years as the Plastics Training Director at the DC Wilson Company developing text-based injection molding training programs and presenting technical seminars.  He has taught numerous injection molding seminars for DC Wilson Co., Cincinnati Milacron, and Penn State Erie.

Dave was the Plastic Technology Program Coordinator and full time faculty member at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Technology (CAMtech), a two-year technical college located in Erie Pennsylvania. 

Mr. Baird is currently employed by Erie Institute of Technology, which acquired CAMtech in 2004, and is the Plastics Molding Technology Program Director.  David continues to develop and deliver customized plastics training for employers in the region, and gives frequent workshops and seminars at Penn Tech College.  In addition, Mr. Baird is also the instructor for continuing education classes and industry-specific training offered by Erie Institute of Technology.
